Christopher Robertson, SEN and Disability Independent Academic - This workshop will focus on the role of special educational needs co-ordinators (SENCOs)* in ‘transforming’ the quality of educational support for children and young with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Specific consideration will be given to challenges faced by SENCOs now that the ‘transitional phase’ of implementing the Children and Families Act 2014 has ended. It will also be argued that embedding the reforms requires further work and an honest appraisal of relevant research and policy evidence.
