Event Description This half day course is designed to help ensure that a positive and proactive approach is taken towards the promotion of physical and mental health and wellbeing in schools and the school community. This is an important session in the development of good practice around Healthy Schools, current Government strategies and narrowing the education and health gap. It will assist schools in addressing their approach to pupil development, wellbeing and behaviour. Surrey Healthy Schools provides support to ensure that wellbeing is a focus within the school ethos and culture. The Surrey Healthy Schools Review enables schools to identify strengths and areas for development in provision; helping them to achieve Surrey Healthy Schools Bronze Status. Schools can further demonstrate their commitment to improving provision by engaging in a Healthy Schools Project, this can assist schools in achieving Surrey Healthy Schools Silver Status. To achieve Surrey Healthy Schools Gold Status, schools will undertake their project and demonstrate that they are improving the health and wellbeing of the school community by submitting a case study showing the impact of their work.
